Tap the + button in the center of the bottom navigation bar to open the Log Screen. In the Period section, tap "Mark Period Start" to record the beginning of your cycle. When your period ends, open the log again and tap "Mark Period End".
After saving, the home screen will update automatically to show the Menstrual phase.
Period Tracker uses your logged period history to estimate your average cycle length and period duration. The more cycles you log, the more accurate the predictions become.
Predicted dates are shown on the calendar as highlighted ranges. These are estimates and are not medical advice — always consult a healthcare professional for health decisions.
Partner Mode lets a partner view and help log basic cycle data (start/end dates) without exposing sensitive symptoms or intimate details.
To enable it, go to Settings → Display & Privacy and toggle "Partner Mode" on. Toggle it off at any time to restore full functionality.
All your data is stored entirely on your device using Apple's on-device storage. Nothing is uploaded to any server, cloud service, or third party — ever.
This means your data is 100% private and only accessible to you on your device.
Go to Settings → Data Management and tap "Delete All Data". Confirm the alert prompt and all your cycle logs will be permanently erased from the device.
Go to Settings → Notifications. You can enable individual alerts for your predicted period start, ovulation window, and fertile window. Each notification type has its own toggle.
If notifications aren't appearing, check that Period Tracker has notification permission in your iPhone's Settings → Notifications → Period Tracker.
Yes, Period Tracker is completely free. There are no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, and no premium tiers. Every feature in the app is available to all users at no cost.
You can protect the app with Face ID, Touch ID, or a PIN from Settings → Security. Once enabled, the app will require authentication every time it is opened or brought back from the background.
Long-press your iPhone home screen to enter "jiggle mode," then tap the + icon in the top-left corner. Search for "Period Tracker" and select the widget size you prefer. The widget will show your current cycle phase and update automatically.
Go to Settings → Cycle Defaults and adjust your Average Cycle Length and Period Duration to values that match your typical cycle. This will recalculate your predictions immediately.
If a specific logged entry is incorrect, you can view it on the Calendar screen and update or remove that entry.
